About Us

Yorkshire & Humber Chambers of Commerce Ltd (YHCC Ltd) is the collective body of accredited Chambers of Commerce in the region. We aim to be a strong voice for businesses in Yorkshire & Humber working closely with other regional bodies.

The Chambers in this region are amongst the strongest in the country and represent 12,500 businesses of all sizes from all sectors. This enables businesses locally and regionally to gain strength in numbers to represent common interest and have regional and national influence.

In the past year, Chambers of Commerce in the region increased levels of membership and 10% of all businesses in the region are now fully paid up members of their local Chamber.

Membership

A majority of the regions biggest companies are in membership, but over half of all Chamber members employ less than 10 people. We are unique in being able to speak authoratively for the regions business community.

International trade

The Chambers handled over 32,000 export documents last year to help local businesses get their goods into overseas markets and led 16 trade missions across the globe generating millions of pounds worth of business.

Skills development

Chambers organised 1,300 courses attended by 15,000 employees and delivered a range of publicly and privately funded training programmes.

Networking

Chambers ran an average of two events every working day last year attended by over 28,000 business people.

Policy & representation

As the ‘voice of local business’ Chambers organised comprehensive consultation procedures and committee structures to engage their members on policy issues affecting their business. Chambers are also represented on countless local and regional regeneration partnerships and other bodies across Yorkshire and Humber to ensure the voice of business is heard loud and clear.

Chambers work closely with a range of organisations helping businesses to find the answers or the support they are looking for, whether that is through individual Chamber services or the specialist services of partners or fellow members.
